The house was built in 1892 by Doctor William Burger, a prominent island resident. It has been the summer retreat for the Zettler family since 1976 when they were serving abroad in the diplomatic corps. Toby, Nora and their family re-established grape growing on Kelleys Island and their son Kirt and his wife Robby now own and operate Kelleys Island Wine Company and Deli Bistro.
