History

Side wheelers and sailing schooners that once plied our waters have been replaced by freighters and ferry boats. The view of Lake Erie from our front porch is a constant wonderment.

Beginning as a private home in 1876, our restored Victorian home abounds in memorabilia from an era long since forgotten. Our distinguished ancestors, Captain Frank E. Hamilton and Erastus Huntington were but a few of the early island pioneers who called The Inn home. In 1905, The Inn was formally established to received guests. It has been a flagship for friendship ever since.

Curl up in our bay window with a book or enjoy our crackling fireplace during the spring and fall seasons. A player piano for sing alongs and large sofas encourage good old fashioned conversation and friendship.

Across the spacious yard you'll find a private deck on the beach where you can catch a tan or cast a line and catch some of our plentiful fish. Fossil collectors will find the beach a bonanza.
