Update August 2005: Pleasant View has installed air conditioning and screened-in porches on our cottages. Hello Friends, Do you need a vacation or getaway? The Lake Erie Islands provide a perfect setting. Kelley Island Ferry Boat Line will get you here, call 800-KIFBL for information - boats depart from Marblehead, Ohio. Pleasantview Cottages and Marina are located on the southwesterly shore of Kelleys Island, 1/10th of a mile West of the old Neuman Boat dock. If you arrive by private boat, our GPS location is 41d35.90N x 82d43.82W. Our location provides a beautiful view of the mainland and of other islands, especially when the lights start flickering on at night. Spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed from our dock, directly in front of the cottages. A campfire pit is also there (including wood), for those of you who still like to toast marshmallows and hotdogs, or feel akin to the atmosphere. Our marina out front is nice for docking your boat, fishing, tanning, or just relaxing to the beauty and restless waves. Since you have already found the pictures of our knotty-pine interiors, I'll only fill you in on the rest. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, private bath (tub with Showerhead) and a large single bedroom with two double beds and a set of bunkbeds = can sleep six. Take Note...we supply pillows, mattress pads, blankets, and bed spreads. YOU NEED TO BRING SHEETS, TOWELS, AND PILLOWCASES.) We can supply these in an emergency only. We have four cottages for weekly rental and two for monthly rentals only. Some families find us useful for family reunion-vacations. We have televisions. We enjoy mostly families, with or without children, who don't bring pets other than the human specie. We cater to fishing groups, and also hunters, but We shy away from party crowds who like a lot of noise, and who don't seem to have any consideration for others. Touring the Island is best on a golf cart or bike. Both can be rented here, but bring a bike if you ride a lot. Our Peak Season Rates are $550 to $600. for a seven day week, which can start on a Saturday or Sunday. Broken or partial weeks can be reserved only five days in advance, if available.
