Secluded
on fifteen acres of meadowland, Morning Glory Inn offers her guests the charm of a restored century home, herb gardens, and a long stretch of private beach.
Morning Glory Inn was built in 1864 by the Rev. Robert McCune to house the
First Congregational Church of Kelleys Island. Many of the original features
are still present. Antiques of the period decorate each room, and in the
gardens herbs of those early days abound. The private beach is a wonderful
place for just relaxing or watching the great Blue Heron fish along the shore.
Or perhaps create your own collection of fossils going back millions of
years.
Morning Glory Inn offers a lovely private suite for your enjoyment. The “Country
Garden Suite” is a one-bedroom suite with a private bath and a private
entrance. A lovely sitting room with a fireplace and library makes for cozy
evenings. A beautiful front porch completes the “Country Garden Suite” where
you can watch the morning sunrise or evening shadows cross over the lovely
reflecting pool outside your door. Morning Glory Inn offers a very tranquil atmosphere for her guests to watch the many birds on Kelleys Island. Deer are also a part of our island and many evenings they cross the yard going to the lake to drink. This suite also offers television, air
conditioning, mini refrigerator and a wonderful continental breakfast. We can
make arrangements to provide sunset sailing cruises, or a dock space for your
own boat. Spa delights such as massage and yoga can also be provided.
