How To Get Your Business Listed And Why |

The Kelleys Island web site has been online for over eight years and is the most widely seen online prescence about the island. What I want to do on this page is to explain how and why they should get their business listed on the Kelleys Island web site.
How to get your business on the web site
1. Contact me and we will go over your situation. The start-up costs are as follows: $200 for a single business and $150 for a single lodging. The cost covers the design of your web page, hosting, taking photos, scanning in photos, and any changes needed within the first year. After the first year the cost is $150 per year for renewal and upkeep, this covers the cost of keeping the site online as well as any changes that may be needed. My contact information is listed below.
2. If you already have a web site I will link that site to the island site for free. Membership does have its advantages though, please read "Why you should have your business on the web site" below. A listing with "member" privileges is also $150 a year for people with a pre-existing web site.
Why you should have your business on the web site
1. A listing on the web site gets you your own distinct url address to list on your literature, mailings, etc (e.g. www.kelleysisland.com/sunandsurf for you it would be www.kelleysisland.com/yourbusiness). Included on this page can be any combination of text and photos that you desire. The first thing that people look for when searching for lodging is photos of your place. All of your contact info will be listed.
2. The answers to may of your guests questions can be spelled out on your web site. This will be the end to many pointless phone calls that cost you money for little or no return.
3. The web site has increased its traffic each and every year - in July 2005 we had over 20000 unique visitors (each individual business and lodging had over 1000 visits). Or 1.2 million "hits" if u like big numbers. Over 25% of visitors spent more then 5 minutes on the website.
4. My lodging customers are listed FIRST on the lodging page, non-customers are relegated to the bottom of the list. Studies have shown (and my stats back this up) that people usually go through links in order, therefore those at the bottom are far less likely to be seen.
5. My lodging customers have told me that a majority of their new renters now come from web referrals.
6. The Kelleys Island web site mailing list (join on the front page of the web site) has over 1600 active members. Any message that a client has (specials, deals, etc.) can be sent out on this mailing list.
